This is a camp card from January and one I also made for my swap gals. The set Bordering on Romance is in the new mini. The pleated ribbon is so rich - and I have not used the color enough (Blushing Bride - but did notice it was a hot color for dresses at the Golden Globes last night!)

The bottom is scalloped with one of the new big shot dies.

Softbound Sophomore Album

For Christmas I made Karisa a scrapbook using My Digital Studio. Her freshman album was a little chipboard book that we did with black and white photos. The sophomore one is the softbound book - the actual first full book that I had made with the software and I am really pleased with the results. I picked a few pages to show you here.

Junior Scrapbook work has begun - the plans for this one are the larger hardbound book. Her senior year will be a hybrid 12x12 project. That way it will have room for added momentos - and we can work on the pages each month. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the term 'hybrid' - it simply means that you mix digital with tradtional scrappin' elements. We will have the pages printed and mailed and then have the chance to add ribbon, accessories, envelopes, etc and then will put them in the page protectors and into an album.

I had valentine samples!! These two cards (made by Tonya and Teresa) feature the new glimmer paper. The sewn card uses the paper 'as is' - the top one uses some ink to add some vintage hue to the heart.

Vintage Valentine

This is a camp card from January camp. It features my favorite stamp set from the current Stampin' Up! catalog. We have used the Greeting Card Kids at every camp since I got it last summer.

As you think about your wish list for upcoming Sale-A-Bration purchases I am sure you will find some most haves in the current Occasions Mini - but don't forget the items that have been on your list for a while. This card uses the Big Shot to make a lovely scallop circle card and my most used Designer Paper from the current catalog. It even makes use of plain ole' grosgrain ribbon. Hard to see in the photo, but it has shimmer spray too!

Decor Elements Meet Big Shot!

This project combines the magnet sheet and the chalkboard sheet that are made in rolls especially for use in the Big Shot.

We rolled it thru with the Top Note and made little message boards for the fridge.

That was an October project too - guess I was a little behind on posting!

One card - two looks

One of my oldest and dearest friends - and one of the most talented stampers I know! - gave me this fabulous card for a swap. I loved the way she chose winter colors - totally transforms the harvest look into a perfect card that doesn't scream FALL. I didn't have the papers she used, but we made the card with other colors at camp in October.

Last of the Fall

November camp was last night - and with it our first flurries of the season!!

As I sat to get my Countdown to Christmas ready - I realised not all of my fall cards have been posted yet. So - I will get to that first.

This is a lovely shimmery card, used the clear block AS a stamp to make the shadow - the white craft pad rubbed on the embossing gives a nice frosted look.

Fall is my favorite season. The rest of the year I just make do with the rich colors and wait for it to roll around again. I could cheat and make some hot cider in March or bake some pumpkin bread in July - but I love to save it up, so all the special*ness happens at once.

Which means, when I first saw this set - I knew it was a must have! This stunning card was designed by my dear friend Theresa - and is a great reminder why I love this time of year.

My owl wanted to masquerade as a BAT! He is all decked out in his retro 70's gear!

The flower is so simple to do - we will do another one in gold for an upcoming Christmas card.

French Foliage is the name of this new stamp set - especially love the largest leaf. Truly beautiful. You might be able to spot the Thankful decoration we made 2 or 3 years ago. I am sorely tempted to update it with new colors and new papers. I think this set would look fabulous on it. If time wasn't an option I would be doing it now!

This card also uses vanilla smoosh paint for extra shimmer.

Last night's Catalog debut was fun! I think everyone left with a free stamp set or other item of their choice! I still have a boxful of free - and it will be given away at every camp til it's gone.

Just a quick FYI, the New Catalog Try It club is now filled. There are a couple of spaces left in the New Color Cardstock club - that one is $13 and you will get 2 sheets of all new 18 colors of 8.5x11 cardstock.

A few who reserved catalogs did not make it, if you are in the area feel free to stop in (you can call first to see if someone will be home) and have a look at the clearance items and get a catalog.

It is the stamp set for my class 2 go for June! The class will include the stamp set and all the supplies to make 5 projects. You will be emailed instructions. It will be ready for pick up or delivery at catalog debut. The cost of the class is $40 (which includes your stamps!) - if you already have the stamp set it is just $15. Payment is needed by June 19th.

When things are a bit down it is when you really appreciate your friends. A dear one showed up last week bearing our very favorite deep dish mushroom pizza AND stamped goodies to show off. Moments like that make life bearable.

Here are two of the cutest things she brought - both feature the Big shot. The flower is made from a suede/leatherish skirt from the Goodwill! It is so cute! The second is a great tropical favor, the tree is filled with milk duds! so cute!

We are doing 10 cards – 5 designs 2 of each – all CAN be birthday cards, but some designs can be used for other occasions if you leave off the greeting.

Cost is $30 – AND I hope to have my list ready of retiring pads and refills that you can purchase – prices will be great and vary according to the amount of refill left. You will be let me know which of my collection you want and then pick them up in July once I can not use them any more.

I want to get this class in during April, I have SO much stuff to use up from the current mini catalog – so the cards will be heavy on embellishmentsJ

Retiring Colors

I was excited as I listened in on the web call from the president Shelli - so ready to clean out all my drawers, folders and more to make way for NEW colors. Spring

For most of my life fall has been without a question my favorite season. I don't know if it is because this spring has been wonderfully beautiful or because I am getting old (let's go with the former!), but spring could be in for a takeover! Summer is too hot and winter too long and cold. But those vibrant colors and golden sun of autumn are getting a run for their money with the same offerings this spring!

And I have not posted since MARCH! A week away at the beach, this crazy beautiful weather and finding each day ful to overflowing doesn't leave me much computer time.

I took some pictures and will try to get them ready so I can show some of what we have been making - cuz trust me, the creating hasn't stopped!

Here are two projects from April camp. The fabric pin - NO SEWING whatsoever, in fact, the brad is even holding it to my bag!! The chipboard frame - I love. It is highlighted with a fun punch flower and fabulous glitter butterfly.

We are off to the beach the end of this month, so around here at least, Sale-A-Bration is on it's final leg. Sad to see such fun sets go. BUT, before it is truly gone - there is one more class this Saturday.

Wow, where did last year go? December was definately a whirlwind!

As priorities go, getting pictures posted up here for all to see just wasn't one of them during the month. There were still classes and workshops - but it was a month where you just had to be there to see it :^).

I will get camp pictures posted of projects - and I have several more of Sale-A-Bration and new stamp sets from the Mini - stay tuned.

Today I want to show off my Christmas interactive album. I had never burned a DVD in my life til this week - but making this 'album' and burning it was so easy with Stampin' Up's My Digital Studio that I breezed right through it! If you don't have the software, you should!

Tonight is November Big Shot class - here is one of the projects that we will be making. I will try to get the remaining samples (as well as Nov camp and Stamp a Stack!) up over the next few days.

There are hardly any classes left for 2009 - the year has flown by! Here is what there is left to attend:
December Camp – Thursday Dec 3 – 2:00pm or Fri Dec 4 7pm
December Split Class – Dec 10th 7pm
Choose between Big Shot ($15) or Mini Stamp a Stack (20 fabulous tags/notecards 4 designs, 5 each) - $15
You can do one class and take the materials home to finish the second for $25 for both

In addition, I am taking the final orders EVER for punch racks for the current style. If you would like one they are $40 and will require that you pick them up. They should be ready in early December. Email if you would like more details.

Finally Finished!

Over the weekend I worked on watching all the training videos and taking all the quizes for becoming certified on My Digital Studio. I passed all the quizzes (took lots of notes!), but I learn best by doing. We were required to submit one finished project as the final step. I wanted to do a page as well, so I could retain some of what I learned. Here they are - I am certain that I will look back on these like we do our first stamping projects and wonder "What the heck was I trying to achieve?" Not too sold on either of them, but sure had fun playing with the software!

The top one is a 6x6 card, I have ordered it, so those of you who attend my classes will get to see the real thing. The second is a 12x12 page (individual, not part of a book).

In the next few weeks I will be setting up a website for those of you who purchase the software from me where I can add tips and tricks that I learn along the way. Watch for it!

Early fall was a blur to me - started my new job at the same time we were in the thick of golf season! Most days were spent at the office til 3 and then at the golf course til 8 - home to dinner and homework to get up at 5am and do it all again. Now that I am slowly getting caught back up, I see that there are a lot of projects we made that never made their way to here! So, while they may a bit out of season - I will put them on - hope you enjoy!

Punch Class

These are the samples from Punch Class in Sept - when prepping for it, I found I had waaaaaaaaaaaay too many ideas for it, so we have been doing punch cards in most every class since (like the pumpkin one shown yesterday). This week watch for the Sept Camp punch crow card we did - and the one we will be doing at camp next Saturday. Punch out a bunch of scrap paper and start seeing the possibilities!

This technique is an oldie, but goodie! I embossed the wheel onto vellum cardstock, flipped it over and colored with markers. Used my Big Shot with a basket die (groom paper, love it) and made a fun {and little spooky} halloween treat!

Big Shot and Homecoming!

Karisa and her friends put my Big Shot (and Susan's alphabet letters!) to good use for Homecoming! They ran zebra print fabric/fusible web thru the letter dies to make some CUTE shirts. Here they are at the game - sporting the shirts that got them so many compliments (and we won't tell, but they were cheap and easy!)
They even were featured on the local news during the sport segment!

while the backs sported their names!
